After enjoying the military museum in Santa Cruz, we went off to Tenerife North airport. Here I was hoping to see a few wrecks and relics and then whatever else would be a bonus. I was also hoping to get a few of the island hoping ATR’s, of which only one or two daily flights go to Tenerife South.
First view was for the dump / fire service area, where six aircraft were clearly noted.
Then a drive past the terminal to the Tenerife Flying club, where the senior flying instructor gave me some of his valuable time to show me the hangar area. Photographs were allowed here.
I ensured that I would not forget to walk across from the Tenerife Flying Club to view t
he Beech Baron in a small compound, where I also noted the wings of a Tecnam P2004 Bravo, but not much else.
It was now time for a coffee and bit of relaxation, so as suggested by a friend of mind, we went to the South side of the airport to find the Bodegon el Hangar on the Camino el Matadero. It was easly found and here you could relax and have views across the runway towards the terminal. The fence does make it difficult for quality photographs, but the few I took were good enough for me to remember the visit. W
e stayed here for about an hour.
We were at the airport and area from around 1130hrs till 1430hrs, when we decide to get back to our hotel in Los Cristianos.
It is quite an easy airport for views and as you can see, quite a few aircraft that won’t be moving anytime soon. Well worth a visit.
