Evening all,
After a very clear start this morning the cloud and sea mist very quickly rolled in and has plagued the West Coast all day. The exception was Lizard Point which was basked in Glorious sunshine! A good job too!
A leisurely breakfast was had before heading back to Newquay Airport this morning to see what could be found after all the road restrictions had been lifted.
Newquay 0935 – 1100
G-NJAC C560XL NJE was heard making several attempted approaches due to the low cloud

Request – An Avro Lancaster fuselage and cockpit marked as LQ was noted. It has recently arrived from the USA and is going to be made up to Museum Standard before being sent to Canada for display. Can anyone please shed any light as to its ID please?
Next stop was Perranporth. A quick request and a wander around the hangers provided approx 25 aircraft but nothing that I collect. Of note in the far corner was F-BRLX Jodel.
From Perranporth a lengthy drive to Lands End through solid traffic (Remember that!!). I was banking on a waiting game for 3 required Isles of Scilly Skybus frames but on arrival all 8 aircraft of the fleet were on the apron or in the hangers with no flying due to the weather. Therefore noted 1330 -1400

After parking up and buying a Pasty from a shop in Marazion I enjoyed some time enjoying the view around Mounts Bay eating my Pasty 🙂
From here I had planned to go to the Lizard Point via Predannack. As I left Helston the sky got very clear so by the time I go to Predannackthe sun was out and the sky blue. After a number of roads and tracks had been explored I parked the car at the destination shown as Predannack Airfield on Google Maps. Turning right I followed the footpath for about 2/3 mile and this allowed the following to be seen.
XX479 Jetstream
ZA111 Jetstream

XS520 Wessex
XV371 Sea king

Most are in a poor condition and have been checked against various online sources.
Whilst I was walking the path a low rumbling noise averted my attention upwards to see the sight of 4 USMC V22 Ospreys information followed soon after by 2 USMC C130s that had been at Exeter heading home.
A well worthwhile day indeed. Not vast numbers but certainly some nice gap filling frames.
