Hi all,
To my eternal shame, despite having an interest in RAF history, I had never been to RAF High Wycombe. During my youth, this was the home of RAF Strike Command (11 Group) and of course before that, the home of RAF Bomber Command. As a child of the Cold War, I was fascinated by the many famous Air Defence Squadrons that protected us from the threat from the East….traffic was unusually light one night driving home from Heathrow to Abingdon and so I decided to pay a visit, to this well hidden location…..
