Hi all
It was our last full day on the US Storage Yard tour and Covid came back to bite us and be a pain in our ass. During our time away from home, Omicron had become the next strain to worry about and the UK Government decided that anybody coming into the UK needed a negative test within 24 hours of flight departure.
You would have thought that in a city the size of Los Angeles, that wouldn’t have been a problem, right? Well it seemed to be a problem especially if you were not a US citizen. We settled on a mobile outfit not far from LAX that had hired part of a multi-storey car park. When the “U-Haul” van turned up, the trestle tables came out and card payment was requested first before the test, it didn’t seem very dodgy at all! We left our contact details for the results to be emailed/text to us later and off we went for one last day of spotting…..
Before I get onto that, some people like trip stats and they follow below, thanks to PlaneBase. Hopefully the format will hold once posted! There are some duplicates in here with regards to active airlines, but I’m confident that over 11,000 frames were seen on our little trip.

By the time we got back to LAX and where our tests had been carried out, they had cleared off, leaving those of us without proof of a negative test having to go for the more expensive do-it-at-the-airport version. Bit of a stressful end to the trip, but I’m sure what had gone on all the days before, more than made up for it! We said goodbye to the wheels and each other and hope you’ve enjoyed the reports!
