Hi all,
As we slowly started to see Covid restrictions ease off, the Gliding Heritage Centre reopened to visitors. As I hadn’t been there since they opened up the second hangar for their collection, I thought it was time for another visit.
Remembering my first visit and how it was rushed along with other people getting in the way of the pictures, I decided to ask for a private group visit and our small group of 11 raised £110 to go towards the great work being done here.
Before that though, someone (thanks TB) with 2Excels connections agreed to meet up with us before our Gliding Heritage Centre tour and walk us around the 2Excel area. This naturally meant that we got the ones in the hangars too.

The response from our Glider Heritage Centre man when asked was as follows – “One of our members brought it back from the Derby and Lancs club at Camphill. Just the fuselage and there are no markings on it I’m afraid. No way it will be renovated, it’s there to supply wood for other restoration projects.”
