Hi all,
This was to be my 12th and final day on the road. First stop was Humberside where I had hoped to get a view into the BAE Systems training facility to catch the other ex-Indonesian Hawk in there. You can ask at reception and potentially view through the door there, but the gentleman behind the counter told me that the Official Secrets Act covered the facility and so not even a glance through the door windows was allowed, let alone access sadly.

Up until now, I’ve had a fair bit of success on my trip. My visit to Hibaldstow evened that out a bit.
Despite the weather being not suitable for para-dropping, the reception was manned and so I asked for permission to look in the hangars. The lady went away and came back with a no despite there being people working in at least one of the hangars. Was I just unlucky or is it better to come when they are flying?
Persistent rain was the order of the morning, but a friendly welcome here cheered me up. Walking around and taking pictures was no problem after asking.

Not a lot going on here but again I was allowed to look around. As requested I didn’t take pictures of King Air E90 as it was due to go to a new owner or the newly painted and rather smart Pan Am paint job on PA-28 G-PAWA.

The weather was better here and I saw 23 Typhoons in around 50 minutes here. Very pleased to have made 5 of them. Also very nice to see the Italian Tornadoes.

Hope these reports have interested/inspired you at some point folks. By the time I got home with my road weary dog, I saw that I had clocked up 3,000 miles on the car on this little jaunt. On reflecting on what I saw and experienced over my 12 day trip, they were miles well spent.
Best regards,
Grant Robinson
