Horsham (Aerospace Logistics) – Monday 28th January 2019 (Grant Robinson)

Hi all,

I paid a quick visit to Horsham to see the ex Australian Sea Kings this morning, thanks to a lengthy diversion away from the Monday morning madness of the M25 and my need to get Gatwick.

I think these arrived in the ASL (Aerospace Logistics) yard in 2014, but back then they were all completely covered in a white protective covering of some kind. I have not gone to see these before as I was assured that you couldn’t actually ‘see’ any of the airframes.

Anyhow as I was passing so close this morning and hearing not long ago that four of these were now unwrapped, I decided to have a quick look. 5 minutes was all I could spare unfortunately, so nothing positively identified by me except that the HAS.6 (different radome) was still wrapped.

So these have been reported in December 2018 as being the four that are now unwrapped.

(N16-114/05), Westland Sea King Mk.50, Aerospace Logistics, Australian (WA791)
(N16-238/20), Westland Sea King Mk.50A, Aerospace Logistics, Australian (WA929)
(N16-239/21), Westland Sea King Mk.50A, Aerospace Logistics, Australian (WA930)
(N16-918/22), Westland Sea King Mk.50B, Aerospace Logistics, Australian (WA878)

Two however are still wrapped up and I believe these to be;

(N16-125/10), Westland Sea King Mk.50, Aerospace Logistics, Australian (WA796)
(XV674/L-015), Westland Sea King HAS.6, Aerospace Logistics, United Kingdom (WA662)

The excellent EuroDeobbed site also gives the location info if you are interested in paying a quick visit yourself…
