Now at the airport, as our flight was not due to depart till about 2200hrs, it was the Manchester departure group that had some time to view proceedings in daylight.
We had a good few hours of daylight still available to drive the perimeter and take our time identifying the stored aircraft, as well as those on maintenance or just visiting. It was also nice to get up close to the preserved Vickers Viking for few photographs.
So came to an end another excellent Friedrichshafen tour organised by Grant Robinson. With this tour, we took a very different route to the previous two years Friedrichshafen trips, which enabled us to see other airfields not visited before.
