Hi all,
I crossed the border this morning back into England. Thanks Scotland, you’ve been very kind and gracious to me.
I’d never been to this next gliding field before and wasn’t expecting too much on early on a October Sunday morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of activity as apparently a nice day of weather was expected. Very friendly here after I made myself known and one of the club members drove me across the active runway to the hangars on the far side.

Another very friendly stop and got chatting to the airfield owner over the cup of tea that was offered. I was allowed to take photographs but it was requested that I do not publish them. The owner had flown his CT to Oshkosh and back……

A big fail here. I asked at the reception area and the chap in there asked the lady airfield owner if I was allowed around. I was told no and it is only allowed once permission has been sought and given in advance of arriving. The chap did explain to her that I was unaware of that, but it made no difference…..

If I remember rightly, this wasn’t far away from Peterlee. Sadly not a soul around and the hangar looked fairly spotter proof. As it would have meant jumping over the locked gate, I didn’t test the theory.

Last stop of the day was at Teeside. I was last here in 2005 and 1997. Back in 1997, there was lots of CAA Fire School stuff on the far side and Trident G-AWZS was there then! Nice to get the Fuji 737 before it is finally scrapped.
