As we prepared for this trip, we had noted and then advised that a daily run out to Markdorf Airfield would be beneficial.
We visited the field on the three days that we were attending the AeroExpo and we were not disappointed. As the weekend approached, the visitor numbers increased.
A very friendly field who were very relaxed in allowing the public the walk across the grass runway. One interesting note was that we, as a group, had ensured that we had high-Viz vests for the smaller fields throughout the tour. However we were told by one of the regular English visitors to Markdorf that they preferred the public NOT to wear them. They wanted the airfield officials to be the sole wearers of high viz. Not a problem and probably a logical idea.
With regard to the aircraft, we were warned that C/n at times were difficult to verify and that was indeed the case. No doubt the remaining ones will be resolved as time passes.
